Gipsy Kings bring in some nostalgia on tour

Turns out, Grammy-winning, world-famous Catalan folk group Gipsy Kings have a favourite musician in Bengaluru: Raghu Dixit. “We absolutely love Raghu and would love to compose a song with him,” said Diego, during their visit to Bengaluru as part of their global tour. The band performed their hit tracks and a few unreleased ones from their forthcoming album for a packed crowd.The band is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of their iconic song Bamboleo, which is a worldwide hit.
“We love performing in India; we love the energy of the audience here,” says Max Baliardo, adding that they didn’t anticipate seeing so many fans in India. “We have so many fans here. People who don’t even speak Spanish are singing along with us, they know all the songs and lyrics. It’s magical,” he adds.
